Is Twitter Having a Moment?
October 13th, 2015
Is Twitter having a Moment? Is this a way for them to summarize the next big news story? With the recent launch of a new feature called “Moments,” Twitter is really trying to step up their game in content curating. They’re calling the new tab “the best of what’s happening on Twitter in an instant.” Frankly, I’m a little surprised it’s taken them so long to take advantage of the fact that they are one of the largest sources of news and chatter online.
People share millions of tweets a day and this includes conversations between top influencers, celebrities and people reporting live from big events or happenings. And let’s face it, sometimes it’s hard to dig through the trenches and find those moments you are looking for.
But with this new feature, which launched last week, that could all change. Twitter has teamed up with a number of outlets to curate content, which features major happenings as they unfold each day. All you have to do is click on the blue lightning bolt tab to see the complete story come together with a list of tweets, videos and photos related to the latest headline. You don’t have to worry about searching the right accounts or hashtags to get the latest news. Just follow an event to get the best Tweets about it delivered directly to your timeline.
